Bombers Shoot 816 in Bakers

The Bowling Bombers took on the Northwest Knights on Tuesday December 6th.  The Knights trailed the overall series 4-3.  The Bombers last played the knights in a senior night win during the 2021 season.  

In game one, TJ Johnson Jr for the knights put up a 278 game to push the Knights to a 1101.  For St. X, Keegan Barbee and Andrew Berkemeier found success on their pair with games of 215 and 211.  Aaron Bickford shot a 194 and Ryan Kreuzer and Brady Johnson combined for a 191.  The Bombers trailed with a 965 game one.  

In game two, the lanes transitioned as the Knights and Bombers found strikes to be a premium.  Northwest finished game one with a 1079 for a 2180 first half score.  Keegan Barbee finished his day with a 202 for a team high 417.  Aaron Bickford and Andrew Berkemeier shot games of 201 and 184 to both end with a 395 series.  Ryan Kreuzer put up a big game of 203 as the Bombers shot a 944.  The Bombers 1909 first half score had them down by 271 pins.  

In bakers, the Bombers could not catch the Knights as Northwest shot an 822.  The Bombers threw games of 172, 210, 208, and 226 for an 816 baker game.  The Bombers fall to Northwest 3002 to 2725. 

The Bombers move to 2-2 on the season and remain 1-0 in the GCL.  The Knights move to 4 and 0 on the season.  

Record Performances

The Bombers loss puts them at 4-4 all time against the Knights.  Current Northwest Coach Terrance Johnson coached the Bombers during Coach Hott's time on the team during the 2002 - 2003 season.  The Bombers 816 baker series is the 49th best in school history.  The all-time high is a 922 shot against La Salle in 2012.    

Upcoming Schedule:

 The Bombers continue their road trip at Crossgate against Moeller on the 8th and then in the Holiday Classic on the 11th.  The Bombers then have their first GCL quad of the year at Northwest Lanes on the 13th and finish December off with an away match against Lakota West at Gilmore Lanes.  

Around the GCL:

The Elder Panthers beat the Fairfield Indians 2796 to 2691.  The Bombers sit tied atop the GCL with Elder at 1-0.  La Salle and Moeller sit in third at 0-1.
