Bombers Fall to Lancers
The Bowling Bombers wrapped up 3 events in 3 days with an away match against GCL rival La Salle at Northwest Lanes on Tuesday January 17th. The Bombers had dropped the last 3 matches leading into Tuesday and were looking to turn things around, meanwhile La Salle had come in winners of of their last 3.
In game one, the Bombers and Lancers put up dueling 1000s. Juniors Andrew Berkemeier and Keegan Barbee paced St. X with a 253 and a 227. Brock Lusby added a 204 while Connor Cahill and Aaron Bickford threw games of 181 and 180. La Salle had four games above 200 with Quentin Morgan throwing the high game of 243. The Bombers trailed 1064 to 1045 after 1.
In game two, Aaron Bickford came out on fire rolling the first 9 before a spare and strike combo in the 10th for a career high game of 279 and a match high series of 459 pushing the Bombers to a 1003. Connor Cahill crossed the 200 mark for the first time in the season with a 203 for a 384 series. Andrew Berkemeier finished with a 434 on a game of 181. Keegan Barbee added a 170 for the Bombers and finished the day with a 397 series. For the Lancers Tyler Richmond shot a game high of 220 to push the Lancers to a 980 game 2 score. After 2, the Bombers led the Lancers 2048 to 2044.
In bakers, the Bombers came out early and pushed their lead to 35 with a game of 214 to 185. However, the Lancers in game two put together a 300 baker game while the Bombers rolled a 127. The Bombers couldnt regain the momentum putting up games of 169 and 207 while the Lancers rolled 184 and 180. The Bombers fall on the road 2893 to 2765.
The Bombers fall to 7 and 6 on the season and 5-3 in the GCL. La Salle moves to 4-5 on the season and 4-4 in the GCL.

Aaron Bickford's 279 is the 9th best score in school history. Game one's team score of 1045 was the 97th best for the Bombers.
Over the weekend, the Bombers' 265 in the La Salle Baker bash was the 11th best baker game in school history. Their 248 ranked 34th and 236 ranked 108th.
Upcoming Schedule:
The Bombers have continue the busiest part of their season with the Cardinal Classic on Sunday followed by Elder on the 26th. They then play the toughest teams in the state with Hamilton on January 30th, then traveling to Dayton to take on Kettering-Fairmont on the 31st, and finishing the week with the GCL quad on February 2nd.
