Bombers Beat Lancers at Home

BombeWith the season series split between the Lancers and Bombers, Thursday night's match would go a long way in deciding who gets second place on the season and can earn points for the GCL All-Sports Trophy. The Bombers fresh off a close loss on Tuesday looked to bounce back against a Lancer team that had won big over Moeller just two days prior.

In game one, the Bombers started sluggish with only 2 bowlers passing the 200 mark threshold. Allen Rosal with the high game for both teams in game one with a 209 followed by Jalen Morrow with a 200. Zack Beard put up a 187 with Andrew Berkemeier throwing a 184. Jared Littelmann finished game one with a 178. The Lancers put up a high of only 206 and no other Lancer rolled over 195. The Bombers took a modest 35 pin lead of 958 to 923.

In game two, the Bombers and Lancers continued their stuggles on the new house shot at Western Bowl. The Lancers had one game of 213 to roll a team score of 919. The Bombers were led this game by Jared Littelmann with a bounce back game of 243 to finish with a 421 series. Jalen Morrow punched in a 191 for 391 series and Andrew Berkemeier shot a 182 for a 366 series. Zack Beard put up a 366 series as well with his 179 in game 2. Allen Rosal and Chris Obert struggled to string strikes in game two combining for a 136. The Bombers finished game 2 with a 931. The Bombers expaned their lead to 47 pins with a 1889 to 1842 lead.

In game one of Bakers, the Bombers put the match away with a 50 pin increase to 97 following a 191 to 141 game. The Bombers put up a trio of 220+ scores of 224, 223, and 222 for an 860 series while the Lancers shot 193, 194, and 192 for a 720 baker series. The Bombers win at home 2749 to 2562 over the Lancers. The Bombers move to 6 and 5 on the season and even up their GCL record 4 and 4 while the LAncers fall to 4-6 and 4-5 in the GCL.

Upcoming Schedule

The Bombers travel north to Columbus and HP Lanes for the Winter Shootout on Saturday. The Bombers end January on the road with away games against Lakota West on the 27th and the Moeller Crusaders on the 25th. The Bombers start February with the last GCL match of the season as they host the final Quad of the year on the 4th at 7pm. The Bombers then travel to Dayton to roll in the Blue and Gold District preview before returning home on the 8th to host the defending state champions, Kettering Fairmont. The Bombers then recognize all 7 seniors when they play Taylor High School on February 11th. The Muskingum University tournament originally scheduled for January 17th has been rescheduled to February 13th. The Bombers end the season on the road against the Oak Hills Highlanders on February 18th.rs Win
