Bombers Beat the Big Blue

On Monday, January 30th, the Bowling Bombers rolled into Rollhouse Fairfield to take on the Hamilton Big Blue. The Bombers last win over Hamilton on February 11th, 2019 and trailed the all time series 2 to 4.


In game one, junior Andrew Berkemeier put on a show rolling his second highest game as a Bomber with a 270. Tyler Brown was the other Bomber to cross 200 putting up a 210. Brock Lusby put up 170 for the Bombers. After 1, the Bombers trailed the Big Blue 964 to 985.

In game two, the Andrew Berkemeier once again led the Bombers with a 233 for a 503 series. Tyler Brown completed a 437 series with a 227. Brock Lusby finished his 366 series with a 196 game. Off the bench tonight, Aaron Bickford shot a 192. After 2, the Bombers led 1988 to 1917.

In a shortened bakers, the Bombers pushed their lead with games of 258 and 169 for a 427 series while Hamilton rolled a 180 and 183 for a 363. The Bombers win on the road, 2415 to 2280.
The Bombers now sit at 9-6 on the season while the Hamilton Big Blue fall below 500 at 5-6.

Record Performances
Andrew Berkemeier's 270 was the 34th best individual game in school history and his 503 was 16th best. The 503 is also Andrew's best series as a Bomber. Last week, Tyler Brown shot a personal record, but that fell tonight with his 437. The Bombers' 258 baker game is the 15th best in school history.

Upcoming Schedule:
Tomorrow, the Bombers follow 75 North to Dayton to take on Kettering-Fairmont. Fairmont enters with a 10 and one record on the season. The GCL ends with a crucial Quad match on Thursday the 2nd at 4PM. The Bombers then stay at Western to take on Oak Hills on the 9th and return to Poelking Woodman Lanes for the Blue and Gold District Preview. The Bombers end the year with a home match against Colerain.

Around the GCL:
Elder lost to Mason Tuesday 2799 to 2631. The GCL title is on the line Thursday with Elder and X tied atop the standings and La Salle one game back. Moeller will finish the season in 4th.
