Bombers Beat the Panthers
The Bowling Bombers met up with GCL rival Elder for a battle of the unbeaten GCL-South teams. This would be the 80th match up between the Panthers and the Bombers going back to the 2001/2002 season. The Bombers entered Tuesdays match 4 and 2 on the season while the Panthers sported a 4 and 0 record. The Panthers clawed their way back last week against the La Salle Lancers shooting a 900 in bakers to erase an 184 pin deficit.
In game one, Andrew Berkemeier opened scoring up for the Bombers throwing a 225 game paired with Keegan Barbee's 203, and Connor Cahill's 201. Brock Lusby and Brady Johnson shot games of 185 and 172 for the Bombers. Aiden Rapien for the Panthers put up a 236. The Panthers and Bombers ended game one a tie 986 to 986.
In game two, the Panthers had three bowlers roll 200 +, Aiden Rapien (449 series), Jayden Brown (403 series), and Brendan Smith (397 series) on their way to a 962. The Bombers came out consistent with 4 bowlers shooting north of 200. Andrew Berkemeier ended his day with a 210 for a 435 series and Keegan Barbee ended with a 224 for a 427. Connor Cahill rolled his highest series of the day with a 408 thanks to a 207 game. Off the bench, Tyler Brown shot a 211 and Brock Lusby paced a 189 for a 374 series. Going to bakers, the Bombers led 2027 to 1948.
In bakers, the Bombers shot games of 194, 194, 236, and 191 for an 815 series while the Panthers kept pace with games of 196, 201, 209, and 201. The Bombers move to 3-0 in the GCL and 5-2 on the season while the Panthers go to 2-1 in the GCL and 4-1 on the season.
